Noah’s 15+ years of experience includes a focus on innovative financial technology, and innovative financial products. His experience spans a solid financial services foundation at Fidelity Investments. From that foundation, Noah has had the opportunity to develop one of the first web-based brokerage trading and systems, to the startup of the first web-based personalize portfolio management systems, to directing a national mutual fund firm as one of the early providers of index-based ETFs, to a founder of one of the first firms to offer actively managed ETFs.
Noah is the founder and CEO of AdvisorShares Investments. AdvisorShares is one of the first firms to apply for actively managed ETF exemptive relief from the SEC. AdvisorShares is designed as a platform for the development of actively managed ETFs, offered in a patent pending structure.
In 2006, Noah was an equity founding partner of Arrow Investment Advisors, advisor to the Arrow Funds. In the first 24 months of operation, Arrow had more than $350 million in assets under management and distribution relationships with several premier firms including Merrill Lynch. Noah was the Vice President of Business Development at Rydex Investments. At Rydex, Noah led the launch of the firm's index based ETF, commencing with the launch of RSP (Rydex S&P Equal Weight ETF). In addition, Noah diversified the firm's business and product lines by developing the firm's first buy and hold mutual funds, and creating a newly established investment advisor to distribute a mutual fund wrap program in conjunction with several institutional money managers.
Noah also spent two years as Senior Vice President at internet startup Foliofn, where he had several responsibilities including establishing the retail inside sales team and created a proprietary proxy and corporate action administration system. Additionally, he held various positions during his eight years at Fidelity Investments—including director, securities trader, trainer, online trading product manager, and call center director.

Dan Ahrens is a Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer of AdvisorShares. He has extensive experience in the investment management industry covering portfolio management, sales and administration. His background includes responsibility for operations, finance and compliance. Prior to joining AdvisorShares, Dan founded Ahrens Advisors, L.P., as an SEC-registered Investment Advisor, where he was portfolio manager of the Ladenburg Thalmann Gaming and Casino Fund from 2006 to 2008. Prior to forming Ahrens Advisors, he was President of the MUTUALS.com Funds. He served as portfolio manager of the Generation Wave Growth Fund (GWGFX) and the Vice Fund (VICEX), which he started in 2002. He was President and Chief Compliance Officer of the Funds' Advisor, Mutuals Advisors, Inc., and acted as President, Treasurer and Financial & Operations Officer for the Broker Dealer firm Mutuals.com, Inc. Dan is an accomplished author and speaker, and has appeared on numerous financial programs including CNBC, ABC News and Bloomberg. He has been featured, along with funds under his management, in major national and trade publications including The Economist, New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, among others. He has a BBA in Finance from Texas Tech University. Dan lives in Dallas, TX.

James Carl is the Managing Director of Sales for AdvisorShares. James brings extensive experience in the financial services industry having worked with RIAs, investment managers and start-up financial services providers. He has taken an entrepreneurial approach to providing solutions and was a key driver in the strategic growth plans for several financial organizations over the past decade, demonstrating particular expertise in: building high performing teams, financial management, financial analysis, and business development. Prior to joining AdvisorShares, James worked as an Independent Financial Consultant where his primary client was an asset management team for an RIA/broker-dealer with $1 billion under management. From 2002 to 2004, while attending graduate school, James assisted in the strategic development and start-up phase for Curian Capital’s launch using the FOLIOAdvisor platform. While at FOLIOfn from 2000 to 2002, he raised the first $50 million of institutional assets for their FOLIOAdvisor platform as the Manager of both Business Development and the Institutional Sales team. James has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Delaware, and received a Masters of Science in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business. He is married and lives with his family in Arlington, VA.

Charles Robertson is the Managing Director of Marketing for AdvisorShares. Charles has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. From starting out as a brokerage trader at Fidelity Investments in a call center environment, Charles moved into a training role where he instructed new traders on everything from how to place trades to understanding client needs so that exceptional service was provided to each customer. He then moved into a fledgling e-business group at Fidelity Investments and helped to develop one of the first online web-based trading platforms. Charles then moved into product management and helped launch Fidelity’s first trading platform geared toward active traders. Charles also brings an extensive business analysis background from working at JPMorganChase, Etrade Financial and Intuit. While at Etrade Financial, Charles headed the launch of two new brokerage sweep funds, as well as launched a new high-interest checking product for Etrade’s bank customers. Charles earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Baylor University, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College. Charles is also a Veteran of the Persian Gulf War where he served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Army’s Military Intelligence Corps. He lives in Beverly Hills, CA.

Stefanie Little is the Chief Compliance Officer for The AdvisorShares Trust. She is a Managing Partner of SEC Compliance Alliance and the President of Little Consulting Group. Stefanie also currently serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for The Community Capital Trust (registered multi-series ’40 Act Investment Companies), AdvisorShares Investments, Community Capital Management, Real Partners and Pring Turner Asset Management (Registered Investment Advisers). Stefanie was previously affiliated with a legal and compliance firm through which she acted as Chief Compliance Officer for a number of entities including registered investment advisers and mutual funds. In conjunction with those roles, she developed and oversaw investment adviser and registered fund compliance programs, performed annual compliance reviews, conducted training and managed multiple SEC examinations. Prior to 2008, Stefanie spent several years heading first the compliance, then the legal function at Brandywine Global Investment Management, gaining extensive experience across a variety of investment products and vehicles. She has over 12 years’ experience in the investment management industry and is a graduate of Widener Law School and the University of Delaware’s Lerner College of Business and Economics.
